Warm clothing arrives at the right time . . . . . . Gravesham’s contact and help points for the homeless now have an emergency supply of thermal clothing through Gravesham with Ebbsfleet Rotary. Funds given by the public through the group’s charity events have been matched by The Rotary Foundation to total £1, 800. This has provided over 250 items of jackets, hats, gloves and thermal blankets for Gravesham Sanctuary and the House of Mercy. “We have learnt about and connected with these two vital local charities, providing what they need to help others,” said President Brian Portway. ”The clothing certainly has been handed over at the right time.” Lorna Nolan from Gravesham Sanctuary said: ”We have had a sudden rush off people coming forward because of the cold weather and the cost of living changes.” Karen Mills from House of Mercy added: “We have had a lot of families with children contacting us.” Photo: Rotary President Brian Portway (left) with Karen Mills, Lorna Nolan and Rotarian Mark Underwood show some of the clothing given.
